Cheezers Palace

Cheezer is a fictional 1/6 Scale “Phicen model”, and one of my favorite ways to practice photography. Posing these hyper-realistic models are a great way to practice real-life posing and lighting on people. I was looking for inspiration one day on Instagram and stumbled on this toy photographer who built amazing scenes using just toys. I loved the idea but wanted a different spin. My personal goal was to make the models look as real as possible in my final edit. When I first started shooting with 1/6 scale figures I completely missed the correlation between these models and photographing real products for real businesses. Not only was I practicing for portraits these small models and scenes I was building were inadvertently preparing me to shoot physical products. I have built over 10 scenes using these 1/6 scale figures and definitely don’t plan on stopping any time soon. The amount of creativity it takes to not only capture and edit the final image but also build the scene with my own hands has been a process I’ve learned to love.
